There are very important news this end of the term as we are shifting from 69 Worcester Boulevard – Languages International.
We are moving to… Rangi Ruru Girls’ School – 59 Hewitts Rd, Merivale on 1 April. Unfortunately Languages International is closing permanently in Christchurch at the end of this month. We have been leasing rooms in their English school for the last year. This was unexpected and sad news for us; we are lucky we have managed to arrange a new lease agreement with Rangi Ruru Girls’ School. We have several projects for the next couple of years that will enlarge our institute and continue offering professional, experienced Spanish tuition at all levels. Read more… here

Grammar workshop – Wednesday 25 March
Do you need extra help understanding the Spanish language structure? This Grammar Workshop is for students who have a Beginners or Pre-Intermediate level. Students will be polishing their knowledge on grammar understanding the importance when learning Spanish. 10% discounts to Speak Spanish registered students (pay $81). Fun playdate in Spanish – Wed 1 April 5.30 to 6.30pm
All Speak Spanish teachers will offer fun games to interact in Spanish outside the classroom. We have different activities for different age groups and abilities. Bring finger food to share in our new rooms at Rangi Ruru Girls’ School. Email us if you are coming, gracias!
Tapas Night – Wed 1 April 7.00 to 8.00pm
This is our longer running event for our students. We love you to come and enjoy a relaxed sociable night in Spanish. This is a valuable opportunity to practice your Spanish outside the classroom. Break time options (children & adults)
Our immersion holiday program is for children 5- 11 years old with or without Spanish language experience. We will have different teachers working with different ages and abilities.Fees are required to be paid in full one week before the school holiday commences. Students can enrol on each day individually or in all 4 immersion days. Parents are required to sign a Parent Authorisation form as children have daily excursions. More information on the website.
The focus of the class is speaking, revising the grammar and vocabulary learnt in the Beginners 1, 2 and 3; Pre-Intermediate 1 courses which follow the A1 level according to the Common European Frame of Languages.
You will be improving your fluency, accuracy and pronunciation in these classes. This is a class for Beginners students, therefore the conversation class is guided. You will be able to practise the target language in a guided environment. It is also a class for those particularly interested in revising (those who have done courses but have not come to the Institute for a while – this will help you gain confidence and catch up). $90 for 4 classes during break time April (usually $100 for 4 classes)
The focus of the class is speaking, revising the grammar and vocabulary learnt in the Pre-Intermediate advanced, Intermediate beginners and Intermediate advanced courses which follow the A2 advanced, B1 & B2 levels according to the Common European Frame of Languages.
You will be improving your fluency, accuracy and correct your pronunciation if necessary in these classes. This is a class for Pre-Intermediate (advanced) and Intermediate students who are able to speak Spanish and want to improve their fluency and accuracy. This class is 90-95% in Spanish. $90 for 4 classes during break time April (usually $100 for 4 classes)
- Fast- Track courses: Beginners 1 & Beginners 2
These are the first courses for students who have no experience with Spanish. Our classes are focused on speaking so you will be speaking Spanish from the start. We like to provide a fun and relaxed environment where students are able to have fun and introduce themselves to the culture.
Fast-track courses are 4 weeks long (12hs), instead of our usual 8 weeks long (12 hs). You will be doing 3 hs in one evening with a short social tea break in between – tea and biscuits provided while you will learning how to asked for tea, accept it, etc.
Spanish for Travelers workshops are 3 hour workshops to introduce you to the Spanish language in the context of travelling. When travelling you will need to communicate with locals: ask for help, find out where the closest pharmacy is, tell them you are allergic to dairy/ nuts, pay or ask for the price among other issues. These workshops will help you deal with those problems and others as well as give you a glimpse of the Hispanic culture. There are 6 different topic based workshops. $90 per workshop per student.
